Description:
This is an easy launch from a protected beach. You can tour the harbor or venture out into the ocean. It is approximately 1 mile from the launch area to the end of the harbor breakwater.

If you paddle west from the mouth of the harbor you can round Dana Point and then paddle along Laguna Beach where there are several places to land.

Launch early for best paddling conditions and wind at your back for the return trip.

Directions:
Take the San Diego Freeway, I-5 to Pacific Coast Highway, Camino Las Ramblas off ramp. Follow the signs to Pacific Coast Highway which is south on Camino Las Ramblas around the curve west to Pacific Coast Highway. Continue westbound on PCH and turn left onto Dana Point Harbor Drive. Drive west past the boat slips and park in the lots past Ensenada Place before or past the sandy beach.

Facilities:
Restrooms. There are many restaurants and shops nearby in the harbor.
