2010 Greenland Week Competition

Join the Kayak Academy for a week of traditional Greenland-style lessons, demonstrations, competition and social activities during our annual Greenland Week. Some activities are free and open to the public. We are honored to have Maligiaq, Dubside, Helen Wilson, George Gronseth and other expert instructors share their knowledge and skills for this full week..

Competition Nov. 5-7th
Modeled after events in the Greenland National Qajaq Championship
Awards for 1st, 2nd 3rd Overall, 1st, 2nd, 3rd for each event.
Kayak Academy Recognition Awards and Prizes for participants.
Competitors receive a T-shirt & Saturday Night Dinner, featuring NW cuisine..

Pre-Competition Training Nov. 4th $50.00
Train with Dubside and others, 1/2 day preparation for competition. Free for volunteers.

Semi-Private Rolling or Strokes Instruction Nov 1, 2 or 3rd
3 hours of instruction of your choice. Max: 3 students $250.00

Deception Pass Tidal Rapids Nov. 3rd $223.00
Learn how to play in 7 knot tidal rapids and rough water. Max: 5 students

Experience Greenland Paddling with 8X Champion Maligiaq Padilla & George Gronseth

Greenland Clinics Sat. Oct. 30 or Sun. Oct. 31st $170.00 Max: 12 students
Paddle strokes, rolling, ropes demonstration and practice. Other activities will include harpoon throwing, the walrus pull and skin on frame rescue practice demo.
