Duane, Wayne and I did a paddle around the bay last night. I haven't been doing much kayaking for a number of years but I'm trying to get back into it again. I can tell I've got a ways to go - Wayne in his Chinook was paddling faster than me in a Sea Lion. (Yes, it's the old Aquaterra boat club!)
Quiet evening, not much boat traffic. The tide was pretty low. Last Wednesday's high tide left LOTS of junk in the water, but except for a few areas where it had collected, the water had much less stuff in it.
I decided to try to see if I could still roll when we returned back to the Coast Guard beach. Tried a few sculling braces first, and that went well, so I went over on the right - no problem coming back up on the same side. So one more, this time a 360, going over on the left and coming up on the right. Almost a little too strong - I nearly went over on the left again. But I stayed up. Good, first time I've tried that in, oh, probably 8 years or so.
