Maiden Voyage of The Legend, Disaster In The Parking Lot
I purchased a very pretty, yellow Seaward Legend from Peter O'Sullivan a couple weeks ago, but was not able to take it on its maiden voyage until today. I had a great time rolling in the pond at Channel Islands Harbor, playing in very small surf, and doing a fast paddle around the harbor to get used to the tippyness of this fast, narrow boat.

I arrived back at the parking lot after a couple hours of playing around and proceeded to load the boat on top of my car. Disaster struck! I am not used to the more narrow profile of the Legend compared to my Necky Tesla, and as I was pushing the boat up on the racks it slipped off the top of the car and CRASHED down on the curb. OUCH! Boat broken! :,( I'm sure Pete probably logged more than a thousand miles on this boat, but I managed to mangle it after 5 miles.

Anyway, I recall reading a number of postings from members who have had damage to their boats, and I would appreciate any recommendations as as to a good place to have the damage repaired. It has about a 9" crack, starting right at the front hatch on the starboard side, running down to just before where the hull begins, and back up again a couple inches. I was thinking about maybe taking it to a place that repairs full-size fiberglass boats at Channel Islands Harbor? Any opinions as to whether a full size boat place could do as well (or better) than a place that specializes in Kayak repairs? Attached are some pictures of the damage.
