La Jolla Shores
Last Sunday Duane, Jon, Henry, Cathy and I meet at Lo Jolla Shores for a casual play day. The conditions at launch were smooth and no one had any trouble. We decided on an itinerary of caving, surfing, skills practice and lunch.

With the plan agreed upon we quickly set out to look at the caves. There was some good surge going on, so we stayed out of the caves. Large waves' bashing jagged rocks was pretty awesome to see, but I missed not being able to poke around the caves. With the caving done we headed to the north side of the pier for some surf. Thankfully there weren't many board surfers to contend with, and the swell that put the caves off limits made for some good surf. Duane was the star of this show , he caught and stretched several waves into beach. Jon and I caught a few but didn't seem to have the luck (maybe its skill) that Duane had.

After about 45 minutes we returned to our launch site to practice rolls, rescues and skills. I think everyone got wet and practiced a few rescues. Surf at the landing spot was non-existent, we all landed without carnage.

We enjoyed a good lunch and some tall tales prior to leaving for home.
