Day After Turkey Day Paddle
We had 13 people show up for the Day After Turkey Day Paddle today. The weather was as nice as it gets. We launched at 9:00 a.m. sharp as posted. There were a few late people who were left on the beach, but they caught up. No carnage on the launches and landings. Surprisingly, the group stayed together, even though there was no effort to do so. It must have been reverse psychology that caused that to happen. There was lots of conversation, and a nice potluck too.

Besides just a wonderful time, the only other thing of note was how we were all amazed at Java Jack's minimalist car topping of his kayak. All he had was two blocks of foam, which the kayak sat on upside down. There were no straps. Instead, he rolled down the window and held onto the kayak with his hand. He said he didn't have very far to drive, but I (as well as the others) never saw anything like it. Then I remembered that Jack is a construction worker, and it didn't seem so strange after all.
