Kiddee Beach
Six or so paddlers met at Kiddee Beach this morning at
about 9 a.m.
We launched without incident and paddled out of the harbor
watching the waves break over the breakwater. We paddled east toward the
buoy outside of Hueneme Harbor. We were met along
the way by a group of seals playing in and around the boats, jumping at us
and splashing us. We watched for a while and paddled to the buoy.
Some of the group left and went back to Kiddee Beach. I think they mostly
wanted to play in the 4-8 foot rollers! The rest of us headed out toward
Gina. Beautiful day, beautiful water, nice even swells. Just before Gina
we met a pod of Dolphin. They were just swimming around enjoying the day. As
we got to Gina several of the dolphin began jumping out of the water as they
headed east (down the coast).
As we paddled back to the west entrance we were met by other seals.
Once in the pond several of the group went all the way to the harbor and the
rest of us played in and around the breakers, beaching, launching, just
playing around.
Four of us met for lunch afterwards.
We had a great time, it was a great day, and all of those present seemed to
really enjoy the day. I know I did and I hope that we can all join up again
for another great day on the water.
