• California Coastal Records Project - Environmental activist Ken Adelman is taking thousands of photographs of the California coastline. His images are being used to identify illegal seawalls and for other environmental uses. So far he's taken 7,000 images, and expects this to rise to 10,000 when he's completed the entire coastline. All of the images are available on the California Coastal Records Project. You can also read an article in the mercury news about the project. CKF Kayakers Living in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico

Hi CKF'ers,
 
Pam and Bill Schlotter are CKF'ers who have "semi-retired" and have moved to the Gulf Coast of Mexico. I know them quite well. They are very active kayakers and over the years have paddled in many distant places. When I heard that their dream was coming to fruition I asked Pam if she would write a series of articles for our website.

This is the first in what I expect to be a fascinating life's journey for Bill and Pam
